The Little Dudes Room

Today i have been thinking a lot about my ideas for the Little Dudes "Big Boy Room", i know i probably shouldn't do the makeover while the house is for sale (yawn...i am so done with waiting, please God send me a buyer soon !!!) anyway, his crib is now made into his 'big boy' bed, and his changing table is now his dresser/book shelf, the furniture has a very 50's feel and it is plain old oak, dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with plain wood, but i have this idea to paint the whole thing burnt orange, and the flat panels of the drawers like a sage green, lovely bright retro colors, im kind of in limbo between 50's and 70's so i think a bit of both will work great.

The Little Dude already has some great vintage stuff adorning his room, his 'heart bear' and Raggedy Noahs Ark are my favorites, then we have his Apple Crate Heirloom bears that my friend made, followed closely by his aunties wooden duck sitting on an antique bookshelf that i brought with me from England.

I seem to have a thing for owls at the moment, so i think that will be kind of a theme for the room, so a lot of orange, brown and green. Since we are selling (yawn ..again) i dont think i can stencil the wall, so i need a cheap alternative to this, i would like an owl in a tree maybe, if anyone knows where i could get some cheap owl wall art i would love to know, otherwise i will probably do a canvas myself.

I have seen the most awesome doorknobs at Anthropologie, would you believe ~ OWLS, but since i have flat panel furniture they dont need handles, i love them so much i think i am going to mount some to a piece of old wood and use it as a rack to hang drawstring bags from for his little bits and pieces.

First Time Blogger !!!!

Heaven knows what was going through my mind when i decided to blog, as if im not busy enough already, but i had this crazy thought that it would be cool to share this crazy journey called life, so i'm going to be blogging my way through all my finds, vintage treasures, and funky junk i find along the way.

Right now we are trying to sell our house, so i cant display all my cool stuff, it doesn't feel like my home anymore, i am so ready to move into a beautiful old Victorian house; which of course will need a ton of love and filling up with my treasures!

My find of the week are three salvaged sash windows ...lets see what ideas i can come up with for these
